- Assesses the patient’s physical and mental health conditions
- Recommends adjustments to home and work environments
- Develops treatment plans fitted to the patient’s unique condition
- Designs physical rehabilitation programs to regain or develop patient’s motor skills
- Educates patient’s family or caregivers on proper care
- Performs final assessments before patients are cleared
Occupational Therapist Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year relevant patient care experience preferred
- Certification by the National Board for Certifications in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to interact with a variety of personalities
- Proficient in medical computer programs
- Empathy for patients
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy
