Description

About Port

Port is an open, flexible internal developer portal designed to streamline everything developers need to know to deliver software more productively and comply with organizational standards. Every company’s software standards, platform, and developers are unique and Port enables platform engineers to unify and present all of the tools in their platform, so developers can work efficiently with clear guidance along the golden paths established collaboratively with stakeholders like security, SREs, and management. From onboarding a new developer to setting up a microservice; performing daily operations to monitoring DORA and engineering metrics across the organization, Port is the only developer portal with the total flexibility to handle all our customers unique platforms and standards, without the cost and complexity of building from scratch.

As Port continues its impressive ascent, we are looking for a  Technical Sales Development Representative (Inbound) to engage with technical stakeholders, guide them through their journey with Port, and ensure they get the most out of their experience. This role involves working directly with inbound leads, responding to potential customers who have shown interest in our product, and providing them with the information and guidance they need.

You’ll play a crucial role in working with companies and customers evaluating our product. Your mission is to engage, qualify, and support them throughout their trial, ensuring they fully understand the value of Port. By building strong relationships and maintaining clear communication, you’ll help drive adoption and long-term success

Core Responsibilities:

  • Engage inbound leads (Slack, email, LinkedIn) to understand their challenges and align them with Port’s capabilities.
  • Support trial users, answering technical questions and helping them implement best practices.
  • Qualify leads based on engineering needs, self-service adoption, and standardization pain points.
  • Host intro calls for engaged trial users, helping them navigate Port and understand its impact.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to refine messaging and improve the inbound funnel.
  • Document product feedback and user insights to help shape Port’s roadmap.

Requirements:

  • Technical background, either from IT, support, or an academic background (degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields).
  • Ability to speak the language of engineering teams and hold meaningful technical conversations.
  • Experience or familiarity with internal developer tools, service ownership, and automation workflows is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business value.
  • A curious, self-starter mindset, eager to experiment and improve the inbound sales process.

Why This Role?

  • A rare opportunity to transition from engineering into GTM.
  • Talk to real users, not cold prospects. Work with engaged trial users who already see value in Port.
  • Be at the forefront of internal developer portals, DevEx, and platform engineering trends.
  • Impact both sales and product by bringing user insights into our strategy.
