We are seeking a Sr. Technical Writer & Knowledge Manager to be responsible for creating and maintaining documentation for our software products. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Technical Writer with experience in technical writing and a deep understanding of software development and documentation best practices. In this position you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and usability of our product documentation.
Responsibilities
- Be fully involved in the documentation process from initial design to release
- Manage revisions to existing documentation, including release notes, installation guides, user guidelines
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across all product documentation, including the development of a technical documentation style guide and a micro copy style guide
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and CSM team, to understand product features and requirements
- Manage on-premises documentation schedules to ensure timely delivery of documentation
- Prioritize the documentation pipeline to ensure critical issues and long-term projects are addressed in a timely manner and understand how to prioritize escalated documentation issues
- Develop and implement knowledge management strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives
- Overseeing the storage and distribution of corporate knowledge: writing, updating, organizing, maintaining knowledge within the company.
- Establish processes and frameworks for organizing and documenting knowledge from subject matter experts.
- Ensure content quality, relevance, and accessibility for stakeholders across the organization.
- Promote a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration through training programs, workshops, and knowledge-sharing platforms.
- Facilitate communities of practice and knowledge-sharing.
- Define policies, standards, and procedures for knowledge capture, documentation, sharing, and utilization.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in technical or product writing and Knowledge Management
- Strong understanding of software development and documentation best practices
- Native English Speaker with strong writing and editing skills and an emphasis on clarity and simplicity.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
- Experience with documentation and development tools such as Doc360 and Jira
- Knowledge of content management systems and version control systems
- Proven experience as a Knowledge Manager with strong record in establishing, implementing and developing successful knowledge management possesses.
- Deep understanding of knowledge management principles, practices, and technologies, including knowledge capture, storage, retrieval, and dissemination.
